The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team fell to No. 7 Indianapolis in the finals of the GLVC Tournament on Sunday in Indianapolis, Ind. The Prairie Stars lost by a 2-0 margin.

UIS played even with the Greyhounds early in the game, with both teams having four shots and one shot on goal through the first 25 minutes. Indianapolis started getting more chances in the second part of the half, but neither team could score. The Greyhounds finished with an 8-5 shot advantage in the period, including 2-1 in shots on goal. Indianapolis also took four of the seven corner kicks in the half, and had a 56%-44% time of possession.

In the second half, Indianapolis continued to increase its time with possession, and it led to the game's only goals. In the 56th and 58th minutes, the Greyhounds played a pass behind the Prairie Stars defense for a breakaway opportunity. Both times, the attacker was able to convert to put Indianapolis ahead.

Neither team scored the rest of the way. Indianapolis had a 7-3 shot advantage in the second half, including 4-1 on shots on goal. Indianapolis also had all four of the corner kicks for the final 45 minutes.

For the game, Indianapolis had possession for 61 percent of the game. It had a 15-8 shot advantage, including 6-2 on shots on goal, and an 8-3 edge in corner kicks.

Conal Gallagher had two shots for UIS, including one on goal.
Browel Some also had two shots, and
Morgan Ratcliffe had the second shot on goal.
Anree Bogart made four saves in goal. Ratcliffe,
Drew Keller, and
Marvin Zott played all 90 minutes in the field.

UIS moves to 12-5-2 on the season. The Prairie Stars will find out its NCAA Tournament fate on Monday afternoon.
