The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball program will open up its season this week at the Lindenwood Tipoff Classic in St. Charles, Mo. The Prairie Stars will face Kentucky Wesleyan in Friday's opener, followed by a Saturday afternoon contest against Parkside.

UIS went 8-12 last season in its GLVC-only schedule. The team's conference record was its second-best since moving to the league in 2009-10.

The Prairie Stars return 10 players from last year's squad, including two former GLVC All-Freshman team members in Chase Robinson and Jack Weber.

UIS will face a pair of former GLVC members at the Lindenwood Tipoff Classic. The Prairie Stars have not faced Parkside since 2019, and Kentucky Wesleyan since the 2016-17 season.
