The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team ran out of overtime magic on Friday night in Rolla, Mo., as the Prairie Stars fell in overtime to Missouri S&T by a 1-0 margin.

UIS and Missouri S&T squared off in a defensive battle with little scoring opportunities. Missouri S&T had nine shots and three shots on goal, compared to eight shots and two shots on goal for the Prairie Stars.

After a scoreless regulation, UIS had two shots early in the overtime period, but both were off the mark. Six minutes into the overtime period, the Miners got a free kick from 22 yards out. Missouri S&T got a good shot off that kick and found the corner of the goal.

Allison Hackett had a team-high two shots, including one of the team's two shots on goal.
Allison Mirimanian made two saves in goal.

UIS falls to 7-6-2 overall. The Prairie Stars are now 5-6-1 in GLVC play, and have fallen to ninth in the conference standings, one spot out of a conference tournament spot. UIS will end the regular season on Sunday at Drury, needing a win and some help to keep its season alive.
