The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team saw one of its best seasons in program history come to an end on Sunday in Springfield, Mo. The Prairie Stars fell one spot shy of a GLVC Tournament spot after a 1-0 loss to Drury.

The two teams played a defensive first half, with just five total shots between the two teams. Neither team scored in the period.

In the second half, Drury took over control, both in the action and on the scoreboard. The Panthers finished the second half with a 13-3 advantage in shots, including 8-1 in shots on goal, and they took all five corner kicks in the half. Around the 20-minute mark of the second half, Drury scored what turned out to be the game's only goal.

UIS stayed close thanks to
Allison Mirimanian, who finished her first collegiate season with a 10-save afternoon.
Madison Grandys took three of the team's four shots, and
Allison Hackett had UIS's only shot on goal.

The Prairie Stars end the year with a 7-7-2 overall record, their second-best winning percentage in program history. UIS went 5-7-1 in GLVC action, and finished ninth in the conference standings.
