The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team is having its best season in 2021 since moving up to the NCAA Division II level. The Prairie Stars have already clinched a home game in the GLVC Tournament, and enters the final week with a shot at the conference regular season championship.

UIS is currently 10-3-1 on the season, marking the first time it has hit double-digit wins since its final year in the NAIA. The Prairie Stars are 9-1-1 in conference action, which is also its most conference victories in program history.

The Prairie Stars are currently averaging 2.55 points per game, which places the squad second in the conference standings. A pair of wins this week against Missouri S&T and Drury, along with a loss or two ties by Indianapolis, would give UIS its first GLVC Regular Season Championship.

UIS is unbeaten in the month of October, going 5-0-1 in that span. Last week, the Prairie Stars earned a pair of 2-1 victories over Southwest Baptist and Rockhurst.

In GLVC games this year, the Prairie Stars rank fourth with a 0.64 GAA, as they have allowed just seven goals in 11 games. Offensively, UIS is averaging over two goals a game over the last two weeks of play.

UIS has had a balanced offense this year, with 13 difference players scoring a goal.
Conal Gallagher has a team-high five goals, including a GLVC-best four game-winning scores.
Pijus Petkevicius is currently sixth among goalkeepers with a 0.98 GAA, and ninth with a .731 save percentage.

Missouri S&T starts play this week with a 5-7-2 overall record, and a 4-6-2 GLVC mark. The team is tenth in the conference standings, but still has an outside shot of advancing to the conference tournament.

Luan Barbosa leads the team with three goals, and Sigurd Semlitsch and Dario Rossell both had two goals and two assists. David Joseph has played the most minutes in goal and has a 1.81 GAA and .704 save percentage.
Missouri S&T has won six out of the seven meetings against UIS, including a 1-0 victory last season in Springfield, Ill.

Drury is currently 7-5-3 overall, and 7-2-3 in GLVC play. The Panthers are currently holding the final hosting spot for the first round of the GLVC Tournament as they are in fourth place, just a single point ahead of Lewis.

The Panthers are one of the best offenses in the GLVC, averaging 1.80 goals per game. Defensively, they are third with a 0.83 GAA. Drury has six shutouts on the year, one behind the GLVC leaders in that category.

Jamie O'Brien is second in the GLVC in goals and points with eight scores and 16 points. Yannick Lamers is third among GLVC goalkeepers with a 0.84 GAA, and he is fourth with a .769 save percentage.

Drury has not defeated UIS since the 2014 season, as UIS is 3-0-3 in that span. In those six games, no team has scored more than one goal in a contest.
