The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team defeated Rockhurst on Sunday afternoon by a 2-1 margin. The win was the 10th of the season for the Prairie Stars, the most it has won during their NCAA era.

Rockhurst struck first in the game in the 11th minute, but UIS quickly answered seven minutes later.

Neither team scored for the rest of the half, and in the early part of the second half. That changed when UIS earned a penalty kick, and
Marvin Zott connected for a goal in the 63rd minute. Neither team scored for the next nine minutes, when the game was called off due to the weather.

UIS outshot Rockhurst 13-5, including a 6-3 margin in shots on goal. UIS also had twice as many corner kick opportunities in the game.

Pijus Petkevicius earned the win in goal, making two saves.
Lars Brinkman led the team with three shots.

UIS improves to 10-3-1 overall and 9-1-1 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars start their final weekend of the regular season on Friday with a trip to Missouri S&T.
