University of Illinois Springfield women's cross country runner
Taryn Christy earned her fourth all-conference honor on Saturday morning in Romeoville, Ill. Christy led the Prairie Stars at the 2021 GLVC Championships, where the program placed seventh as a team.

Christy finished 10th in the individual standings after completing the course in a time of 22:07. She has finished tenth in every GLVC meet in her cross country career, including third in 2019 and 2020.

Christy helped the Prairie Stars finish seventh as a team with 162 points. UIS finished between Lindenwood and Missouri S&T, as it was 14 points behind the former and nearly 60 points ahead of the latter. Southern Indiana won the meet with 44 points.

Gloria Esarco was second on the team with a 23rd-place finish. She had a time of 22:56. The next three UIS finishers all were in the top-65.
Jordan Serrahn had a time of 23:29,
Jade Anderson finished in 23:52, and
Alexa Thomsen had a mark of 24:13.

The team's top newcomer,
Emma West, finished in a time of 24:50. Other runners included
Lexi Throne with a time of 25:34,
Libby Price with a mark of 25:44, and
Morgan Suttles finishing in 26:47.

UIS will compete in the NCAA Division II Regional Championships on Nov. 6 in Evansville, Ind.
