Madelyn Miller-Ross of the University of Illinois Springfield has been named the 2025 Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Miller-Ross earned the honor following a standout senior season that showcased success both in competition and in the classroom. She was named GLVC Runner of the Year after winning the 6K race at the GLVC Championship in a time of 21:35, helping lead Illinois Springfield to a third-place team finish — the highest in program history. She also earned All-Region recognition after placing 10th at the NCAA Midwest Regional and competed at the NCAA National Championships.

A leader both academically and athletically, Miller-Ross carries a 3.79 cumulative GPA while studying elementary education and posted a perfect 4.0 GPA during the season, earning Dean's List honors. She collected two GLVC Runner of the Week awards during the year and closed the season with her career-first appearance at the cross country national championship.

The scholar-athlete award recognizes the conference's top performer in each sport based on athletic success and academic achievement.
