The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team struck twice in the second half for a 2-1 Senior Day victory over Southwest Baptist on Friday night at Kiwanis Stadium.

After a scoreless first half,
Lauren Griffin sparked both of the team's goals in the second half. In the 49th minute, she took a free kick just outside the side of the box. Her kick found the head of
Madison Grandys who scored the first goal of the game. In the 53rd minute, Griffin took a corner kick and curled the ball off the Bearcats' goalkeeper's hand and into the goal.

 Southwest Baptist got one goal back in the 71st minute, but the UIS defense shut down the Bearcats for the rest of the way.

UIS finished with a 16-4 lead in shots, including an 8-3 edge in shots on goal. The Prairie Stars also had a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Allison Mirimanian earned the win in goal, making two saves.
Sierra Cenek had five total shots, and Grandys led the team with three shots on goal.

UIS improves to 7-4-2 on the season, and 5-4-1 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars have their final home game of the year on Sunday against Rockhurst.
