The University of Illinois Springfield women's golf team had its best three-round tournament score of the season on Monday and Tuesday at the Bearcat Dual Gender event. The Prairie Stars shot a 1010, and finished seventh out of nine teams at the competition.

Madison DeRousse led the Prairie Stars with a three-round total of 231, which placed her 15th in the field. Included in that was an even-par 72 for the first round. That was the seventh round in program history of even par or better. DeRousse started that round on hole 12 and was two-over after 12 holes. She then birdied the par-three sixth hole, had four straight pars, and finished her round with another birdie. For the tournament, she had 31 pars and six birdies.

Two of the team's newcomers, Isabel Segal and
Sara Prieto, both finished with scores of 252. Segal had a low round of 83 on Tuesday, and Prieto had a low round of 82 during the second round. Rounding out the team was
Kathryn Gleason who shot a 275, including an 86 for the first round.

UIS will end its fall season on Oct. 30-Oct. 31 at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational in Owensboro, Ky.
