Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Leads For Nearly Entire Game In Victory Over William Jewell

The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team remained hot on Friday with a 4-0 victory over William Jewell in Liberty, Mo. The Prairie Stars are now 6-1-1 since the start of GLVC play.

UIS scored the game-winner less than three minutes into the game. UIS earned a corner kick and Marvin Zott took it. Zott curved the ball back towards the goal, bouncing it off the far post for the score.

That was the only goal until the 64th minute when UIS drew a foul in the penalty box. Browel Some attempted his fourth penalty kick of the season, and, like the first three, he converted it into a goal.

UIS added two more goals in the final two minutes. Lucas Harris scored the first one, and Harris then assisted on a goal by Rory Carlson.

Those goals were more than enough for the UIS defense, which only allowed one shot on goal in the game. The Prairie Stars finished with 10 shots, and eight shots on goal, while allowing just six shots to the Cardinals.

UIS improves to 7-3-1 on the year. The Prairie Stars will travel to Kirksville, Mo. on Sunday for a noon game at Truman State.
