The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team controlled action on Friday at home against Lewis, but it couldn't get the victory. The Prairie Stars fell on Homecoming to the Flyers by a 1-0 score.
 
The game's only goal came in the 9th minute when Lewis took an early lead. Lewis cross the ball into the box. A UIS player got to the cross but couldn't head it out. The clearing attempt went to a Flyer who scored on her shot.
 
That ended up as the only goal as the two teams couldn't score in the final 81 minutes. UIS finished the game with a 17-9 shot advantage, including a 7-3 mark on shots on goal.
 
Bri Wade came off the bench and took five shots in 40 minutes, with four of them on goal. Sierra Cenek attempted four shots. Allison Mirimanian made two saves in goal.
 
UIS falls to 5-3-1 overall and 3-3-0 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars return home on Sunday to face nationally-ranked Indianapolis at noon.
