The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team came out on top of its Friday's Homecoming Contest against Lewis after a wild finish in the final four minutes. Both teams scored in the final four minutes, with the final goal giving the Prairie Stars a 2-1 victory.
 
UIS opened up a 1-0 lead with a goal just over six minutes remaining in the first half. Albert Nimako scored with an assist from Marvin Zott.
 
It appeared for awhile that the game would end with that total until Lewis was awarded a penalty kick with 3:42 remaining in regulation. The Flyers scored to tie the game at one.
 
That tie would last just over a minute. With 2:20 left on the clock, a Lewis handball gave UIS a penalty Kick. Browel Some stepped up and buried it for what turned out to be the game-winning goal.
 
UIS improves to 6-3-0 overall, and 5-1 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars host No. 1 Indianapolis on Sunday at Kiwanis Stadium at 2:30 p.m.
