The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team looks to continue its hot start to the 2020-21 season on Saturday afternoon when it travels to Maryville for a 1:00 p.m. game.
The Prairie Stars are 3-1 in GLVC play, their best start to a conference campaign since joining the league. UIS picked up win number three last Sunday afternoon with a 72-61 victory over Missouri S&T.
Maryville started the year 2-0, but has now lost four straight games. On Thursday night, the Saints lost their latest game by an 80-65 score against Lewis.
UIS defeated Maryville by a 58-55 score back on Dec. 5. The Prairie Stars trailed by one after the third quarter, but allowed just 11 points in the fourth.
Malea Jackson had 18 points for UIS, followed by
Lauren Ladowski with 11.
