Box Score The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team returned to the court on Sunday in Rolla, Mo. after nearly a month off. The Prairie Stars offense looked sharp though coming out of the long break, and it led the team to an 84-78 victory over Missouri S&T.
UIS shot 52.5 percent from the field for the game, and made a total of 32 field goals. Twenty-five field goals came inside the paint, and the Prairie Stars had a 50-22 advantage in that category. UIS also turned the ball over just 11 times, and had a 19-10 lead in points off turnovers.
All five starters scored in double-figures, led by Chase Robinson with 18 points. Jack Weber collected 16, Keymonta Johnson had 15 points, and Trey Marble and Matt Wendling each had 13. Robinson just missed a double-double with nine boards, one more than Wendling. Wendling had a team-high three three-pointers in five attempts. Marble had five assists and just one turnover, and Johnson blocked two shots. Weber had a team-high +10 plus/minus in the victory.
UIS improved to 2-2 overall and in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars will travel to Lindenwood on Wednesday night for a 7:30 p.m. game.
