Men's Basketball Can't Slow Down Southern Indiana

Box Score The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team could not slow down the Southern Indiana offense on Saturday in TRAC. The Screaming Eagles defeated the Prairie Stars by an 88-69 margin.
 
The game was close throughout much of the first half. UIS led 25-24 at one point, but Southern Indiana scored 20 points in the final 5:08 and took a 44-32 lead into halftime. In the second-half, UIS cut the lead to eight with 9:17 remaining, but Southern Indiana pulled back away after that.
 
UIS finished the game shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from three-point range. Southern Indiana completed the 40 minutes shooting 47.6 percent from the field, including 10-of-20 from three-point range. The Screaming Eagles also made 18-of-20 free throws, eight more than UIS. UIS turned the ball over seven more times in the game.
 
Jack Weber and Chase Robinson both finished with 17 points. Robinson had nine rebounds, and Weber was eight-of-11 shooting and had seven rebounds. Matt Wendling was also in double-figures with 13 points. Trey Marble and Robinson both had three assists, and Weber blocked three shots. Keymonta Johnson finished with nine points.
 
UIS falls to 6-6 on the season. The Prairie Stars will travel to Indianapolis next Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. (central) game.
