The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team fell to Nebraska-Kearney on Friday afternoon at the Springfield Racquet Club. The Prairie Stars lost to the Lopers by a 6-1 margin.

In singles play, the Prairie Stars were competitive in the first three flights. At No. 1 singles,
Maegan Flight earned a three-set victory. She was shutout in the second set, but bounced back for a 6-2 win in the deciding set. At No. 2 singles,
Ashley Long also went to a third set, but she couldn't get the victory. At No. 3 singles,
Ebony Sampson lost a first set tiebreaker, and lost the second set 6-4.

Nebraska-Kearney swept the final three singles flights, and also had wins in all three doubles matches.

UIS is back in action tomorrow at home against Lake Superior State.
