The University of Illinois Springfield track and field program stayed in Grand Valley State University for the Saturday version of the GVSU Big Meet.

UIS runners were primarily competing in the 3,000m on Saturday.
Taryn Christy led both teams by winning the women's competition. She ran a time of 9:51.59, the fastest in the 93-person field and a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
Gloria Esarco finished 12th in the race, and
Savannah Brannan was 18th. On the men's side,
Tyler Hiserote led UIS with a fifth-place finish in a time of 8:35.28.

Other top Prairie Star finishes in other races included
Brendan Kroeger coming in 21st in the mile, and
Libby Price finishing 29th in the 800m.

UIS will stay close to home next Friday for the Hilltop Classic in Jacksonville, Ill.
