The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team returns home on Saturday afternoon for a 3:30 p.m. game against Maryville. Both teams won their season opener, and are looking to bounce back after a loss on Thursday.
UIS nearly overcame a 22-point deficit at Rockhurst last time out, but the Hawks were able to pull out a 74-68 victory.
Maryville was edged out at home on Thursday with a 73-69 setback against Lindenwood.
The UIS/Maryville series has been close with the Saints holding a narrow 8-7 advantage. The Prairie Stars have won three straight in the series. That includes an 82-79 win last year after
Matt Wendling hit the game-winning three-pointer with 0.3 seconds left in the game.Â
