The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team resumes its season this Sunday with a 1 p.m. game at Missouri S&T.

The Prairie Stars are looking to start GLVC play with a 3-1 record for the first time in program history. UIS improved to 2-1 with a 58-55 win over Maryville in its last game on Dec. 5.

Missouri S&T enters Sunday's game with a 1-6 record. The Miners are 1-2 at home, with two close losses and a 79-68 victory over Southwest Baptist.

UIS comes into the contest ranked third in the league by averaging just 64.3 points a contest. That defense will be tested against the Miners who are in the top-five in the GLVC by shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from three-point range.
