The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team has its first road trip of the season on Thursday when it travels to Southern Indiana for a 5:15 p.m. game. Both teams went undefeated during the first week of GLVC action.
 
The Prairie Stars won their fifth straight season opener last Friday with a 76-75 victory over Quincy. UIS overcame a 10-point deficit in the final three minutes, and Malea Jackson won the game with a basket with one second remaining.
 
Southern Indiana defeated Rockhurst and William Jewell last week. The Screaming Eagles allowed just 55 points in both games.
 
Last season, a shorthanded Prairie Stars squad was ahead of Southern Indiana by eight points at halftime, but the Screaming Eagles came back for a 69-61 victory.
