The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team fell on Saturday afternoon at TRAC by a 70-59 score against GLVC newcomer Lindenwood.

Lindenwood jumped out to a 19-8 lead after one quarter. UIS fought back and tied the game late in the second, but a three-pointer with 1:06 remaining gave the Lions a 28-25 halftime lead.

The second half played out in a similar fashion with Lindenwood leading by double-figures for much of the third quarter, before the Prairie Stars fought back later on. The score was 55-51 Lindenwood with three minutes left in the fourth quarter, but two quick baskets gave the Lions a 4-0 run, and a little breathing room for the final minutes.

UIS finished the game shooting just under 40 percent from the field. It held the Lions to 35.6 percent shooting, including 27.8 percent from three-point range. Lindenwood made 23-of-31 free-throws throws though, compared to 13-of-20 for UIS.

Lauren Ladowski led UIS with 12 points and three assists.
Katelyn Rosner had a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Makenna Fee added 10 points and seven boards.
Airiana Smith had a +10 plus/minus in her 9:25 of action.

UIS falls to 7-11 overall and 2-8 in the GLVC. The Prairie Stars continue their homestand on Thursday against Bellarmine.​
