The University of Illinois Springfield women's basketball team was tied with Rockhurst going into the final quarter, but the Prairie Stars were outscored by seven in the last 10 minutes in a 75-68 loss to the Hawks.

UIS started out slow in the fourth quarter and fell in a 63-54 hole midway through the quarter. An 8-0 run, including a key three-pointer by
Malea Jackson, got the team within one with three minutes remaining. Rockhurst was able to get a layup though on its next possession, sparking a 5-0 run that gave it enough margin for the win.

Rockhurst won the game at the three-point arc, where it shot 45.5 percent and made 10 shots, compared to five made three-pointers and 29.4 percent shooting for UIS. Rockhurst also made eight more free throws in the game.

Lauren Ladowski led UIS with 17 points, and also had eight rebounds and six assists.
Tehya Fortune added 13 points, including three three-pointers, and
Malea Jackson scored 10.
Katelyn Rosner led UIS with nine rebounds, and
Makenna Fee had three blocks.

UIS falls to 6-7 overall and 1-4 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars are on the road next Thursday at Truman State.
