Box Score The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team extended its program-best GLVC winning streak to four games on Friday night with a 1-0 victory on the road at Missouri S&T.
Â
The game's only goal came late in the first half. Missouri S&T was unable to clear the ball from its end, and
Lauren Griffin got possession and floated the ball in from 40 yards out.
Maggie Juhlin played the bounce perfectly and was able to slip a shot into the left corner. The goal was the fifth of the season for Juhlin, and Griffin was awarded her fourth assist of the year.
Â
UIS's defense did the rest for the Prairie Stars. They only allowed eight total shots in the game. Only three of those shots were on goal, all in the bottom center for goalie
Bailey Cross to stop.
Â
UIS improves to 5-2-0 on the year, and 4-0-0 in conference play. The Prairie Stars are one of just two GLVC teams that are still undefeated after four contests. UIS will be in action on Sunday at Maryville, a team which is 3-0-1 in conference play.
