The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team picked up its first GLVC victory of the season on Sunday with a 1-0 shutout win over Missouri-St. Louis.

UIS's defense allowed just two shots on goal in the game, and nine total shots. It also gave up just four corner kicks. Offensively, the Prairie Stars had 14 total shots and four shots on goal.

The game's only goal came in the 31st minute when
Jay Younger scored off assists from
Edward Rose and
Dan Mahony.
Drew Keller had three total shots, and two shots on goal.
Pijus Petkevicius made two saves as he earned his third shutout of the season.

UIS is now 3-2-1 on the year, and 1-1-1 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars are on the road next Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game against Missouri S&T.
