The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team has its home conference opener this Friday when it hosts GLVC newcomer Lindenwood at 7:30 p.m. The Prairie Stars will also face Missouri-St. Louis in St. Louis, Mo. on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
 
UIS (2-2-0, 0-1-0)
UIS is 2-2-0 overall on the season. The Prairie Stars lost their GLVC opener last Sunday by a 2-0 score at Lewis. UIS outshot the Flyers by a 12-7 margin, and had a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks, but it couldn't get a shot past the Lewis goalkeeper.
 
UIS currently ranks fifth in the GLVC with a 1.24 GAA, and it is 13th in the conference by scoring 1.00 goals a game.
 
Mario Falsone leads the team with two goals, and Adrian Ortega has two assists. Pijus Petkevicius has been the goalie in every game, and he has a 1.24 GAA and a .706 save percentage.
 
About Lindenwood (2-1-0, 1-0-0)
Lindenwood has won two straight and it is now 2-1-0 on the year. The Lions opened the GLVC season with a 3-2 win over Missouri-St. Louis last weekend.
 
Lindenwood ranks third in the GLVC with 2.33 goals a game, and it is 11th with a 1.67 GAA.
 
Luke McBeth leads the team with four goals and nine points. Leon Silva paces the squad with two assists. Tim Licht had a 1.67 GAA and a .545 save percentage in goal.

UIS and Lindenwood have not faced each other since both programs moved to the NCAA level.
 
About Missouri-St. Louis (2-2-0, 0-1-0)
Missouri-St. Louis enters play this week with a 2-2-0 overall record. It started its GLVC campaign with a last-minute 3-2 loss at Lindenwood. The Tritons face Lewis on Friday evening, before hosting UIS on Sunday.
