The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday with a 6-1 victory over McKendree.

Sam Clarke and
Logan Burgess Hayes entered the day's action with 212 wins among the two of them during their four-year UIS careers. The duo added three more wins to that total to lead the Prairie Stars to a team win over the Bearcats.

Clarke won at No. 1 doubles and singles. He and
Tommy Martinez just edged their double opponents by a 7-5 score. At No. 1 singles, Clarke lost the first set but bounced back, including winning the third-set tiebreaker 7-5.

Burgess Hayes also earned a three-set win at No. 2 singles. He dropped the first set by won the final two by scores of 6-1 and 6-4.

UIS lost the doubles point, but swept all six singles matches. Other winners were Martinez at No. 3 singles,
Alex Chan at No. 4,
Oscar Toro at No. 5, and
Matthew Lapsley at No. 6.

UIS is now 12-3 on the year. The Prairie Stars will be in action this Wednesday at Lewis.
