The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team tested itself versus undefeated Indianapolis on Friday afternoon in Springfield. The Prairie Stars lost to the No. 4 team in NCAA Division II by a 7-0 margin.

Nethra Thenappan was the most competitive player on the day. In doubles, she and
Kena Bere lost by a 6-3 margin at the No. 3 position. In singles, she won five games in her two sets, including a narrow 6-4 loss in the first set.
Neha Mokhasi and
Ashley Long both took on top-20 players in the nation in singles action, and both players won three games.

UIS will be in action again on Saturday afternoon with its final home dual of the season against McKendree.
