The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team earned its first victory in program history over Belleramine on Saturday afternoon in Louisville, Ky. The Prairie Stars won by a narrow 4-3 score.

UIS fell in an early hole after the Knights won all three doubles matches. UIS bounced back though winning the No. 1 through No. 4 singles contests. The biggest match came at No. 4 singles, which went to a third-set tiebreak, which

Ashley Long were winners at the top two singles positions.

UIS improves to 13-4 on the season. The Prairie Stars begin postseason play next Friday at the GLVC Tournament.
