Women's Tennis Picks Up First Win All-Time Against Bellaramine

The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team earned its first victory in program history over Belleramine on Saturday afternoon in Louisville, Ky. The Prairie Stars won by a narrow 4-3 score.
 
UIS fell in an early hole after the Knights won all three doubles matches. UIS bounced back though winning the No. 1 through No. 4 singles contests. The biggest match came at No. 4 singles, which went to a third-set tiebreak, which Kena Bere survived by an 8-6 score.
 
Maegan Flight also won in three sets at No. 3 singles. Neha Mokhasi and Ashley Long were winners at the top two singles positions.
 
UIS improves to 13-4 on the season. The Prairie Stars begin postseason play next Friday at the GLVC Tournament.
