The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis earned a 4-3 victory over Purdue Northwest on Saturday afternoon. The two teams split the singles matches, but the Prairie Stars swept the doubles matches for the team win.

In doubles, UIS won all three doubles matches, and only lost five games in the three contests. Kena Bera and
Kaitlyn Thornhill shut out their opponents at No. 2 doubles. Neha Mohhasi and
Ashley Long were 6-1 victors at No. 1, and
Maegan Flight and
Steph Reynolds won 6-4 at No. 3.

In singles play, Illinois Springfield had success at the top of the competition, winning three of the top four matches to seal the victory. Flight won her No. 1 singles match by a 6-2, 6-4 score. Bere was victorious at No. 2 by margins of 6-4, 6-3.
Nethra Thenappan only lost one game in her No. 4 singles win.

UIS is now 6-2 on the season. The Prairie Stars will be in action again on March 11 when the team begins their spring break trip to Hilton Head Island, S.C.
