The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Chowan on Tuesday in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

UIS won every match on the day except at No. 3 singles where it lost in a tiebreaker. Two other singles matches went to a third set, with
Maegan Flight (No. 2) and
Nethra Thenappan each capturing victories in the tiebreaker.
Steph Reynolds had a shutout win at No. 5 singles.

In doubles,
Neha Mokhasi and
Ashley Long had the most impressive win with a 6-1 victory at No. 1.

UIS improves to 8-2 on the season. The Prairie Stars will next take on Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday.
