The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team edged out Hillsdale on the road on Friday by a 4-3 score.

The two teams split the singles matches, but the Prairie Stars won after taking two of three doubles matches. In No. 1 doubles,
Sam Clarke and
Tommy Martinez had a 6-4 win. At No. 3,
Alex Chan and
Oscar Toro won 7-6 after having a 7-3 victory in the tiebreaker.

Clarkes continued his singles winning streak with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) win at No. 1 singles. Martinez captured the No. 2 singles by 6-4, 6-4 scores. The third winner was
Matthew Lapsley at No. 6 singles, where he won a three-set score by 7-6 (7-1), 2-6, 6-2 margin.

UIS is now 5-2 on the season. The Prairie Stars will be in action tomorrow at Purdue Northwest.
