Â
In the second game, UIS had a 3-0 lead until Oakland City scored twice in the fourth inning. The Prairie Stars quickly responded with a five-run bottom of the fourth.
Nick Mayerhofer had a perfect suicide squeeze bunt that scored two after the throw to first got past the first baseman. That opened up a big inning in which the team scored four unearned runs. UIS would add two more insurance runs in the fifth inning.
Â
Sechen and Mayerhofer both drove in two runs, and
Ruben Markham and Mayerhofer each scored twice. Markham had three hits in game two.
