The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team defeated Parkside in a non-conference match on Tuesday night at TRAC. The Prairie Stars won by scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-13, and 25-21.

A defensive switch to start the third set helped the Prairie Stars turn the momentum after they lost the second set. With
Jailyn Borum moving to the libero position, UIS held the Rangers to a negative hitting percentage in the third set, and a .092 mark for the remainder of the match. In the final set, UIS trailed 17-11, but used a 12-2 run to take control of the match.

UIS finished hitting .235 for the match, compared to a .106 mark for Parkside. UIS had three more blocks and 12 more digs in the game, and overall had 10 fewer hitting errors.

The Prairie Stars middle blockers led the offense as
Alli Splitt and
Brianna Bush had 30 of the team's 51 kills. Splitt finished with 16 and a .577 hitting percentage, while Bush had 14 kills and a .375 hitting mark.
Becca Blakeley finished with 44 assists. Defenisvely,
Jenny Rush had 25 digs and Borum finished with 22. Cobert was the third player in double-figure dig totals with 10. Bush had a team-high five blocks, and Splitt and
Madeline McGuire each had three.

UIS improves to 17-11 on the season. The Prairie Stars will travel to Drury on Friday night as they return to GLVC action.
