Women's Volleyball Wins Sixth Straight At Missouri S&T

The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team defeated Missouri S&T by a 3-1 score on Friday night in Rolla, Mo. The Prairie Stars won by scores of 21-25, 25-20, 25-23, and 26-24.
 
After splitting the first two sets, the final two sets both went down to the wire. In the third set, the two teams were tied at 23, when Megan Krasowski had a kill to put UIS ahead. Alli Splitt then had a solo block to give the Prairie Stars a win. In the fourth set, Splitt again was the difference late. She had a kill to give UIS a 25-24 lead, and then recorded a block assist with Becca Blakeley to finish the match.
 
UIS hit .190 for the match, compared to .162 for Missouri S&T. The Miners had 11 more kills, but also 10 more hitting errors. The Prairie Stars had 13 total blocks and 89 digs on defense.
 
Alli Splitt had a team-high 15 kills, seven blocks, and a .351 hitting percentage. Becca Blakeley led the squad with 46 assists, and Jailyn Borum had 39 digs.
 
UIS improves to 11-4 overall and 3-0 in GLVC action. The Prairie Stars travel to Maryville on Saturday afternoon.
