10/3/2019 3:15:00 PM

The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team hopes a return to Kiwanis Stadium this week will get the team back on the winning track. The Prairie Stars will be home on Friday night for a 7:30 p.m. game against Quincy, followed by a 2:30 p.m. contest on Sunday versus Truman State.

UIS (3-4-1, 1-3-1)
UIS lost both ends of its GLVC road trip last week, falling 1-0 at Missouri S&T and 3-0 at nationally-ranked Maryville. The Prairie Stars, who are now 3-4-1 on the season, and 1-3-1 in conference play, are unbeaten at home this season with a 2-0-1 mark.

In GLVC games this year, UIS ranks ninth in the league with a 1.40 scoring average per game. It is 15th by scoring 0.40 goals a game.

Mario Falsone currently leads the team with two goals and five points. Pijus Petkevicius has been the team's goalie, and he has a 1.21 GAA and a .744 save percentage.

About Quincy (5-2-0, 3-1-0)
Quincy is one of the hottest teams in the GLVC, winning its last three matches. The Hawks are 5-2-0 on the year and 3-1-0 in the GLVC. They defeated Indianapolis by a 3-1 score last time out.

In GLVC games, Quincy is third with a 2.25 scoring average. It is also among the defensive leaders by allowing 0.75 goals a game.

UIS vs. Quincy Series History (Since 2010)
Quincy and UIS have been battling in men's soccer since 1978, and the two programs have combined to win seven NAIA national championships since that time. Since UIS joined the NCAA and GLVC in 2010, Quincy holds a 6-2-1 advantage in the series history, including a 4-2-0 mark at Kiwanis Stadium. UIS has won two out of the last three games, but Quincy won last year by a 1-0 score.

About Truman (4-3-0, 3-2-0)
Truman had its best start to a GLVC season since joining the league by winning its first three games. The Bulldogs dropped both games last week, though, to Indianapolis and Bellarmine, and they are now 4-3-0 on the season, and 3-2-0 in conference play.

Truman ranks 11th in the GLVC by scoring 1.00 goals a game in league play, and it is seventh by allowing 1.00 goals a contest.
