The University of Illinois Springfield women's tennis team picked up a victory in its first dual meet of the season on Friday in Springfield, Ill. The Prairie Stars defeated Olivet Nazarene by a 7-0 score.

UIS captured the doubles point by winning two of the three doubles contests. The Prairie Stars then swept the six singles matches.

In doubles,
Kena Bere and
Ebony Sampson won the No. 2 match by a 6-0 margin, and
Maegan Flight and
Jasmine Cortez also won by a 6-0 score at No. 3.

In singles, Sampson and Cortez both won their singles matches by scores of 6-0 and 6-1 at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
Ashley Long won at No. 1, Flight had a win at No. 2,
Neha Mokhasi won at No. 4, and
Kaitlyn Thornhill was the winner at No. 6.
