The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team has three weekends remaining in its regular season, including a four-game road trip starting this week. The Prairie Stars will travel to Southern Indiana on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and they have a 2:30 p.m. match at nationally-ranked McKendree on Sunday.
 
UIS (5-5-2, 3-4-2)
UIS is coming off a 0-1-1 results at home last week. The Prairie Stars tied Bellarmine by a 1-1 score on Friday, before falling late to Indianapolis by a 2-1 margin. Both goals were scored by UIS's freshmen class in Evan Paoni and Drew Keller.
 
In conference-only games, UIS ranks eighth in the league with 1.56 goals a game. It is also eighth with a 1.38 GAA. The Prairie Stars have scored 14 times in league games, and given up 13 goals.
 
In league play, Mario Falsone is tenth in the GLVC with eight points, and Dan Mahony is sixth with three assists. In goal, Pijus Petkevicius is ninth in saves per game, and in save percentage.
 
About Southern Indiana (3-5-3, 3-4-2)
Southern Indiana enters play this week tied with UIS in the GLVC standings. Last weekend, the Screaming Eagles lost to William Jewell, and tied Rockhurst.
 
In the GLVC this season, Southern Indiana is tenth with 1.33 goals a game, and 12th with a 1.69 GAA.
 
Justin Faas has been one of the GLVC's top goalies in conference action, leading the league with a 0.55 GAA and a .889 save percentage.

UIS is 4-9-1 all-time against Southern Indiana, including a 1-5-1 record in games played in Evansville, Ind. Southern Indiana has won four straight games in the series, including a 3-0 win last year in Evansville.

McKendree is currently on a seven-game winning streak, including a 3-0 win over Rockhurst and a 5-0 win over William Jewell last weekend. The Bearcats are ranked No. 22 in the latest NCAA Division II national poll.
 
McKendree is first in the GLVC by scoring 2.33 goals a game in league games. It is also first with a 0.53 GAA.
 
Three Bearcats rank in the top-10 in the GLVC in conference games in points. James Stone has 15, Gonzalo Correa has collected 13, and Eddie Davis has recorded eight points. Goalie Brett Niedzwiecki is fourth in the conference with a .783 save percentage, and fifth with a 0.78 GAA.

UIS is 5-3-0 against McKendree over the eight meetings since the two joined the GLVC. That record includes a 1-2-0 mark for UIS in games in Lebanon, Ill. Last season, UIS won the regular season meeting by a 1-0 margin, but the Bearcats won in the first round of the GLVC Tournament by a 3-0 score.
