The University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer team could not pull out a Homecoming victory on Friday night at Kiwanis Stadium with a 2-0 setback against Bellarmine.
 
UIS had a 7-3 advantage on shots on goal, but it couldn't get a shot into the goal. Maggie Juhlin had the best chances for the Prairie Stars, as she had five total shots, four of which were on goal. Defensively for the Prairie Stars, Hailey Collins made one save in her first GLVC appearance. She faced 14 shots, but only three were on goal.
 
Bellarmine scored the game-winner in the 30th minute, and then iced the game in the 87th minute. UIS outshot Bellarmine in the second half, including a 5-2 margin on shots on goal.
 
UIS falls to 5-6-0 on the season, and 4-4-0 in conference play. The Prairie Stars will face Indianapolis on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Springfield, Ill.
