The University of Illinois Springfield men's soccer team woke up offensively last week, and it hopes that firepower continues with two home games this week. The Prairie Stars will host Bellarmine during the school's Homecoming ceremonies on Friday at 5 p.m. On Sunday, Indianapolis comes to Springfield for a noon game.
 
UIS (5-4-1, 3-3-1)
UIS scored 10 goals in two victories last weekend, helping the Prairie Stars move above .500 on the season. The Prairie Stars defeated Quincy by a 5-2 score, and knocked off Truman State by a 5-1 margin.
 
UIS is currently ranked eighth in the GLVC by scoring 1.60 goals per game, and it is seventh with a 1.27 GAA.
 
Mario Falsone was named the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. He now leads the team with five goals and 11 points. Adrian Ortega is the team leader with four assists. Pijus Petkevicius has a 1.27 GAA and a .740 save percentage in goal.
 
About Bellarmine (7-0-2, 4-0-2)
Bellarmine is currently on an 18-game unbeaten streak, and it is ranked 17th in NCAA Division II. Last week, the Knights defeated Missouri-St. Louis by a 2-0 score, and was victorious over Lindenwood by a 3-1 margin.
 
Bellarmine is ranked third in the GLVC with a 0.53 GAA, and it is third offensively with 2.11 goals a contest.
