The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team fell to Truman State on Thursday night in Kirksville, Mo. by a 77-52 score.

A bad first half put the game out of reach for the Prairie Stars as they trailed 47-20 at the break. Truman shot 71.4 percent in that period, including making seven-of-11 from three-point range. UIS shot just 22.6 percent, and missed all 11 three-pointers it attempted.

UIS did outscore the Bulldogs in the second half by a basket, as it performed better on both offense and defense. The Prairie Stars finished the game shooting 33.3 percent from the field, and made just three-of-26 from three-point range. Truman shot over 50 percent from the field and three-point range for the game.

Gilwan Nelson led the team with 11 points, including a pair of three-pointers.
Logan Gonce came off the bench to score nine points, and he had team-high with six rebounds and three assists.
Peyton Allen blocked two shots and
Daniel Soetan had three steals.

UIS falls to 12-6 overall and 5-3 in GLVC play. The Prairie Stars will look to rebound on Saturday at Quincy.
