University of Illinois Springfield golfer
Daniel Nyman won the Dan Salisbury Memorial on Sunday in Springfield, Ill. The Prairie Stars finished second at their fall tournament at Panther Creek Country Club.

Nyman had a one shot lead after 18 holes when he shot a two-under 70 on a Saturday. On Sunday, he shot a 71 and won the event by three shots with a 141. He dominated the par-fives, shooting seven-under on those holes. He led the tournament with nine birdies, and also had an eagle.

UIS shot a 295 on day one of the event, and was just two shots behind Rockhurst. Both of those teams shot a 303 on Sunday which enabled Rockhurst to win by two strokes.

Daniel Miller had a top-10 finish for UIS with a two-day score of 150, including shooting even par for the first 18 holes.
Louis Bagur was third on the team with a 154, and
Jaime Kreisler and Sebanstian Trujillo each had a 155.

Among UIS individuals,
Steffen Heckele finished fifth overall with a 148.
Nick Patton scored a 154, one shot better than
James Scagell.
Spencer Jury carded a 161, and Dayton Pate had a 172 for the event.

UIS will be in action again on Oct. 8-9 at the Midwest Regional in Eureka, Mo.
