Rockhurst University powered past the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) women's soccer team with a 3-0 victory during Sunday's Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) matchup.

The Hawks (3-2-1, 2-0) were led by Stephanie Ostrander and Jillian. Leetch. Ostrander tallied five points off two goals and an assist while Leetch notched four points off a goal and two assists.

Rockhurst found the scoreboard during the 24th minute. Ostrander served a pass from the left side of the box and Leetch deflected a header in for the score. Ostrander earned the assist.

During the opening minute of the second half, Ostrander found the back of the net to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead. Leetch was credited with the assist.

Ostrander netted her second goal of the match during the 52nd minute. Leetch crossed a pass near the endline on the left side and Ostrander provided a touch just in front of the goal that led to a Rockhurst goal.
"We finally decided to play after we were down 3-0 and that's absolutely yoo late to get switched on."

Maggie Juhlin, Izabel Pina and
Erin Bolskar each registered shots on goal for the Prairie Stars (1-3-2, 1-1) while
Taylor Mraz also provided a shot.

Rockhurst's Rosie Breheny recorded a shutout and came up with three saves.

Paloma Guijarro served as the UIS goalkeeper for 77 minutes, 40 seconds and rejected six of the nine shots she faced. Juhlin played in goal for 12:20 and saved the only shot she faced.

Rockhurst outshot UIS by a 22-to-4 margin and held a 10-to-3 advantage in shots on goal.
UIS hits the road for two GLVC matches next week. The Prairie Stars take on the University of Indianapolis (5-1, 2-0) on Friday at 4 p.m. CT in Indianapolis. UIS then clashes with Lewis University (2-2-2, 1-1) on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Romeoville.
