SPRINGFIELD, IL – The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) baseball team came away with two wins during Saturday's Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) doubleheader with the University of Indianapolis.

UIS (25-4, 6-0) recorded 11-5 victory against Indianapolis (17-9, 3-6) in Game 1 and a 9-0 win in Game 2. The Prairie Stars are ranked No. 10 in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) NCAA Division II poll.

In Game 1,
Cole Taylor finished 3-for-5 with a double and a triple.
Michael Rothmund,
John Sechen and
Tyler Hilton each cranked home runs while Myle Hann,
Kenny Hansen and
Chris Mathieu each finished with two-hit performances.

Sam Geraci (2-0) earned the win after tossing one and two-thirds scoreless inning in relief. He struck out three batters and allowed a walk and a hit.

In Game 2, Stokowski and Sechen each delivered their second homer of the day. Stokowski went 2-for-3 with four RBIs while Taylor finished 2-for-4.

Andrew Dean (6-0) fired six scoreless innings for the win. He fanned three batters and surrendered two walks and four hits.

The Prairie Stars and the Greyhounds are slated to clash in a doubleheader on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the UIS Baseball Field.
