The University of Illinois Springfield men's basketball team had its top offensive performance of the season on Saturday night at TRAC in Springfield, Ill. The Prairie Stars won their fourth straight with a 97-67 victory over Purdue Northwest.

UIS had season-highs in points, field goals made, field-goal percentage, and three-point percentage in the victory. The Prairie Stars finished the game shooting 52.9 percent from the field, including 44.4 percent from three-point range. The Prairie Stars made 36 field goals, 10 more than Purdue Northwest, and 17 free throws, eight more than the Pride.

UIS never trailed in the game and had a 13-10 lead five minutes into the game. Over the next nine-plus minutes, the Prairie Stars went on a 28-8 run to pull away. They would lead 53-32 at halftime, and the lead never dipped under 14 in the final half.

Eleven players scored for UIS, including five in double-figures.
Cole Harper led the team with a double-double after having season-highs with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Daniel Soetan finished with 17 points. Both of those players were seven-of-nine from the field.
Gilwan Nelson scored 15,
Aundrae Williams had 13, and
Vince Walker collected 10 points.

UIS, which outrebounded the Pride by a 49-36 margin, also got six rebounds from
Zach Steinberg and
Collin Stallworth. Soetan led the team with five assists, Steinberg had a team-high two blocks, and Williams stole the ball four times.

UIS improves to 6-3 on the season. The Prairie Stars will be in action again at home on Wednesday afternoon with a 1 p.m. game against Lindenwood-Belleville.
