University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) women's soccer goalkeeper 
Bailey Cross contributed eight saves against William Jewell College during Sunday's Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) matchup at Kiwanis Stadium.
 
Cross saw a total of nine shots.
 
William Jewell (7-5-1, 4-4) fought to a 1-0 victory against UIS (1-9-2, 1-7).
 
Six minutes into the match, Lexi Hawkins took a shot that was saved. Allison Malott came up with the rebound and put the ball in the back of the net. Hawkins recorded the assist.
 
Kayla Meyer contributed two shots and a shot on goal for the Prairie Stars. 
Valentina Rodriguez tallied a shot on goal while 
Amanda Meyer and 
Emma Williams added shots.
 
Kayla Crowder led the Cardinals with four shots. Hawkins provided three shots. Gracie Schwienfurth and Malott totaled two shots apiece while Emma Baldridge, Annalee Arbeitman and Bella Catano registered shots.
 
William Jewell's Kaylie Kappelman put together a two save shutout.
The Cardinals outshot the Prairie Stars 12-4 and held a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal.
 
UIS takes on Drury University (0-11-1, 0-8) in a GLVC matchup on Friday at 5 p.m. in Springfield, Mo. The Prairie Stars then battle Missouri S&T (3-7-1, 2-5-1) in a GLVC matchup on Sunday at 12 p.m. in Rolla, Mo.
