Records Continue To Fall For UIS Volleyball

The University of Illinois Springfield volleyball team defeated Maryville on Tuesday night in St. Louis by a 3-0 score. Alli Splitt set a program record for hitting percentage in a single-match after having 14 kills and no errors in 20 attempts.

UIS defeated the Saints by scores of 25-22, 25-20, and 25-14. The Praire Stats held the Saints to under .100 hitting, and they had the statistical edge in kills (+11), service aces (+1), digs (+6), and blocks (+5).

Splitt had a .700 hitting percentage in the contest, breaking Emma Burkle's 2016 record of .684. She was consistent throughout with four kills in sets one and three, and six kills in the second set. The 14 kills were a season-high for her.
 
Taylor Bauer was also in double-figure kills with 13 kills. Tiffany Wentworth had 25 kills in two sets, and Becca Blakeley had 13 assists in her one set as the setter. Jailyn Borum had a team-high 29 digs, and Megan Krasowski had a season-high 10 digs. Alyssa Hasler collected four blocks, and Splitt and Brianna Bush had three blocks apiece.
 
UIS improves to 14-4 overall and stays in a tie for first-place in the GLVC with an 8-1 conference mark. The Prairie Stars are in action again on Saturday at McKendree.
