NOBLESVILLE, IN --- The Prairie Stars traveled to Noblesville, Indiana to compete in the Midwest Regional #4 at the Purgatory Golf Club in one of the final tournaments of the season. Illinois Springfield finished T-12 in the field of 25 teams in a rain shortened event. UIS finished eighth out of 13 Great Lakes Valley Conference schools with a score of 304 (+16). Grand Valley State won the event with a 285 (-3).
Erik Thulien led the way for the Prairie Stars with a three-over 75 for a T-31 finish.
Louis Bagur and
Trevor Flota each finished T-40 with a 76 while
Mitch McCafferty and
Talon Supak followed closely behind with a 77 and 78, respectively.
Thulien was second in the entire field in par-five scoring, playing those holes at three-under par. He was able to get there by notching one of the seven eagles on the day from the entire 147-player field. Supak and Bagur finished the par-fives at one-under, tied for ninth in the field.
Bagur carded four birdies on the day, which was eighth best in the field while Supak had three.
The Prairie Stars will compete at the Illinois Divisoin II match play in Urbana, IL next Monday held at Stone Creek Golf Club. This will be the final tournament before the GLVC Tournament on April 23-25 at River Cut in Springfield, Missouri.
