ALLENDALE, MI --- The Prairie Stars continued their indoor season with their biggest meet outside the Great Lakes Valley Conference meet, competing at the Grand Valley State Big Meet last Friday and Saturday. The field consisted of 38 total teams: six NCAA Division I teams, 21 Division II teams, eight teams from the NAIA, and three junior colleges. UIS finished T29th in the meet with three total points.
Aeriel Storey took 29
th of 40 in the 60m dash with a time of 8.32 and then took 44
th of 53 in the 200m dash later in the day. In the 200, Storey finished in 28.07 which sets the record for the 200 by 0.84 seconds.
In the 3000m run, freshman
Alexandria Quarton took 42
nd of 52 runners --- 5
th of 14 in her section --- with a time of 11:38.23, setting a personal and UIS best with the mark. This bested her old record by 23 seconds which was held by
Krissy Finley.
Finley was a part of two records herself on the day, completing in the 800m run in 2:18.93, breaking her previous mark by nearly three seconds. This was good for a 7
th place finish out of 64 runners, picking up two points for UIS.

Haley Kerpan,
Olivia Rohr, and
Lexi Yoggerst --- also set a record in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:14.65, besting their previous time by ten seconds. This was good for an 8
th place finish out of 12 teams to pick up the teams third point of the meet. Three of the four runners set personal bests in their section of the race.
Yoggerst finished first in her section and 22
nd of 64 overall in the 800m run with a personal best time of 2:22.76.
Kerpan also competed in the 800m run, taking 40
th of 64 with a personal best time of 2:29.70, knocking nine seconds off her previous best.
In the mile, Rohr took 31
st of 58 with a time of 5:31, setting a personal record by four seconds.
Rachael Crowley also competed in the mile, finishing 45
th in a time of 5:50.57, a personal best by nine seconds.
Overall, the Prairie Stars set four school records: 200m, 800m, 3000m, and 4x400 relay.
UIS will head back to Illinois College next weekend for the Alumni Meet in their final tune-up before the GLVC Championships on February 25-26 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
