ST. LOUIS, MO --- The Prairie Stars (4-3, 1-3) dropped their third decision in a row, falling to Maryville (2-4, 1-3) by a score of 1-0 on the road. After beginning the year with four consecutive wins, UIS has fallen in three straight conference games, scoring just one goal in the three matches.
After playing to a scoreless tie in the first 45 minutes, Maryville got on the board in the 53
rd minute, beating keeper
Courtney Johnson from ten yards out. It was just the fifth goal Johnson has given up on the year and fourth in GLVC action. The freshman has only surrendered more than one goal on one occasion this season through seven games.
UIS put four shots up in the match, with just one going on target by
Karisa Rogers in the first half.
The Prairie Stars will return home, where they are 2-1 on the season, to face Saint Joseph's in a 7:30 pm match on Friday before finishing the weekend with UIndy at noon on Sunday.
